A reporter asked San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich on his opinion of the 3-point shot. And he gave a vintage answer that's one for the ages.

As per Eddie Sefko of SportsDay, Popovich let out a sarcastic quip: he hates 3-pointers.

The Spurs head coach suggested that there should be a 4-point shot — a new rule that's being discussed by some people in the league. Popovich even went further, noting that there should even be a 5-point line which would turn the NBA into a circus.

Of course, this is not the first time that Popovich lashed out on the 3-point shot. Some three years ago, someone asked him the same question amid the impending dominance of the Golden State Warriors, who, even up to know, utilize the shot to their advantage.

As per ESPN, the Spurs head coach said three years ago he still hates shots from the arc but at one point, he has to embrace that it's a necessary and powerful tool:

“But that's just me, that's just old-school. To a certain degree, you better embrace it or you're going to lose. And every time we've won a championship, the 3-point shot was a big part of it. Because it is so powerful and you've gotta be able to do it. And nobody does it better than Golden State, and you know where they're at. So it's important. You can't ignore it.”
