The San Antonio Spurs and Toronto Raptors are finalizing the framework of a blockbuster trade centered on Kawhi Leonard and DeMar DeRozan, per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and Chris Haynes.

The Toronto Raptors are finalizing a deal to acquire San Antonio Spurs star Kawhi Leonard in a trade package that includes All-Star DeMar DeRozan, league sources told ESPN.

Leonard's exit from San Antonio has been long overdue. If this deal materializes, and it's looking like that as of this writing, both camps can finally move on from their marred partnership. Numerous rumors have taken Leonard on a cross-country trip this offseason. His name has been dragged to Cleveland, Philadelphia, Boston, and Los Angeles for both Lakers and Clippers, but as it turns out, he might end up moving out of the country and into Canada.

On the other hand, the Raptors will be parading a team that's going to be very different from last season's group that was a LeBron James-absence away from advancing in the playoffs. Dwane Casey is gone and with DeRozan's looming exit, Kyle Lowry will be left as the lone leadership piece from last year's top East team in the regular season.

For what it's worth, both players are also known for the unique stories that come with their personalities. Leonard has been the ever-silent assassin, while DeRozan was a monster inside the court who admitted that he was also battling personal demons at the same time.
