With the Kawhi Leonard saga completely over after a sudden trade that sent the forward northbound to the Toronto Raptors, more feedback about the process behind the scenes as well as thoughts by San Antonio Spurs personnel are starting to find its way in the news.

One such player is Spurs legend David Robinson, who's been a steady supporter of the team and makes sporadic appearances in home games. The Hall of Famer spoke to ESPN's The Jump about Leonard's untimely exit, specifically about the drawbacks of his silent withdrawn character.

“He’s just quiet. He doesn’t … I’ve reached out to him several times and just never hear anything back from him. I think the whole time he’s been here [in San Antonio], I’ve talked to him maybe a handful of times, and I can count on one hand how many words he’s really said to me.”

The 6-foot-8 defensive stopper affectionately referred to as “The Klaw” has long had a reputation for being unusually quiet and keeps largely to himself — a feat that's quite surprising given the extroverted nature of the NBA and his relatively attention-drawing style of play and accolades, including two Defensive Player of the Year awards.

Also clashing with his demeanor is his apparent desire to play for a big market city such as Los Angeles wherein the media is infamously known to be unforgiving and relentless especially with regards to his injury that's been the source of his soured relationship with the Spurs.

Nonetheless, the now Raptor is expected to shore up the D and possibly help the Canadian franchise gain some semblance of playoff success in the LeBron James-less East.
