San Antonio Spurs forward LaMarcus Aldridge has reached an agreement for a three-year, $72.3 million contract extension with the team, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. The deal will include a partial guarantee in the third year.

Aldridge's extension will start in 2019-20, opting into his $22.3 million for the 2018-19 season and signed through the 2020-21 season.

This extension comes only three months after the Texas native expressed his frustration with the team, hopeful that the organization could find a better fit for him throughout the offseason. He remained non-committal to signing an extension throughout the entire summer, utimately adding a hefty $50 million for two additional seasons with the Western Conference powerhouse.

After five straight seasons averaging 20 points or more with the Portland Trail Blazers, the longtime native forward failed to come close to the 20-point mark in his two years with the team, struggling to find his niche after the rise of Kawhi Leonard as the team's go-to option.

Aldridge joined the Spurs in the summer of 2015, receiving All-Star honors in his first season with the team.

The big man posted 17.3 points and 7.3 rebounds in 72 games during his last season with the team, which came to an end after the Spurs were swept during the Western Conference Finals.
