The San Antonio Spurs have announced that All-Star forward LaMarcus Aldridge and reserve point guard Derrick White might not play against the New York Knicks on Sunday.

Aldridge is currently dealing with an undisclosed illness, while White is diagnosed with a right heel soreness.

Both players suited up for the Spurs in the team's 120-117 loss against the Toronto Raptors on Friday. Aldridge logged in 31 minutes but finished with just six points and eight boards. White scored seven points, grabbed four boards, and dished out three dimes in 20 minutes.

If Aldridge won't be able to play, the Spurs will be shorthanded at front court, as center Pau Gasol is also out with an injury. Jakob Poeltl and Davis Bertans are expected to step up for San Antonio in LMA's absence.

The Spurs are currently holding on to the seventh spot in the seventh spot in the Western Conference standings, and a win against the Knicks, could propel them to as high as the fifth seed.

The Knicks are currently the worst team in the league with an 11-48 record. They recently set a franchise record 18 straight losses, which they broke against the Atlanta Hawks before the All-Star break.

The Knicks should pose no threat to the Spurs, even without Aldridge, as the team has DeMar DeRozan and Rudy Gay to rely on offense.
