After a tough loss to the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night, LaMarcus Aldridge is hopeful his San Antonio Spurs teammates aren't looking at the standings or worried about their potential seed this postseason.

“We gotta worry about trying to get wins, winning games,” said Aldridge. “You can watch (the standings) all you want, but if you don't take care of business, we don't win games. Watching it isn't gonna do anything for you.”

“We just have to focus on the task at hand, and that's trying to shake this funk.”

The Spurs have been funky indeed, winning only three of their last 10 games and sliding to fifth place in the standings, in a virtual tie with the Minnesota Timberwolves (sixth) and the Oklahoma City Thunder (seventh) — leading them only by a hair in terms of winning percentage.

Aldridge put in a monster effort, dropping a team-high 30 points, and a season-high 17 rebounds on the night, but it didn't prove enough as the Spurs were unable to hold a Kevin Durant 14-point personal flurry, scoring 15 of the last 19 Warriors points.

San Antonio's job doesn't get any easier, facing the Thunder on Saturday, with a chance to put some separation between the two teams via a key win at this pivotal point of the season.

The Spurs are still waiting for the impending return of star forward Kawhi Leonard, though wisdom suggests it might take him a few games to reincorporate himself to the Spurs' equation once he makes his return from a quad injury.
