LaMarcus Aldridge and the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder took each other deep in overtime as the former won by a score of 154-147.

The Spurs started out the game by breaking the modern NBA record for most three-pointers made without missing in a row. They reached 14 before colling down back to normal efficiency levels.

But the story of the night was LaMarcus Aldridge. He had one of the best games of this season, in fact, probably of his career. His midrange jumper was dropping, everything he threw up at the basket seemed to go in. His touch at the basket was graceful and yet effective.

Aldridge had a game for the ages, as he dropped 56 points, grabbed nine rebounds, and dished out four assists while shooting 20-of -33 from the field. His previous career high was only 45 points. He carried this Spurs team on his back.

Russell Westbrook had a crazy, utterly insane game as well. Not only did he drop his typical triple-double, but he dished out 24 assists, an insane mark for a point guard. That's nearly double what Westbrook averages every game, just going to show how dominant he can be when he steps up his game.

This season Aldridge has averaged 19.8 points, 8.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game while shooting 50.4 percent from the field. His pick and roll game with their all-star guard DeMar DeRozan is nearly impossible.

Aldridge did have some disagreements with his head coach Gregg Popovich in the past, but he seems to have moved past that and has grown to love his role in San Antonio.
