San Antonio Spurs power forward LaMarcus Aldridge passed Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson on the NBA's all-time scoring list on Thursday against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Aldridge entered Thursday with 17,704 career points. Magic Johnson scored 17,707 points during his Hall of Fame career.

By passing Magic, LaMarcus Aldridge is now at No. 78 on the NBA's all-time scoring list:

This is a tremendous accomplishment for LaMarcus Aldridge. Anytime you can pass the legendary Magic Johnson on any list means you are doing something right.

Aldridge has always been a consistent scorer during his NBA career. He holds career averages of 19.4 points per game and has averaged at least 20 points six times during his career entering this season.

The next player for Aldridge to pass is Hall of Famer Bailey Howell, who scored 17,770 career points during his 12-year playing career. Aldridge, a six-time All-Star, is the second leading scorer on the Spurs, trailing only All-Star shooting guard DeMar DeRozan (22.3).

San Antonio got off to a slow start this year, but they have been playing really good basketball as of late and LaMarcus Aldridge is a big reason why. The Spurs entered Thursday with a record of 24-18, good for seventh place in the Western Conference standings.
