LaMarcus Aldridge's $24 million contract with the San Antonio Spurs for the 2020-21 season has been fully guaranteed, according to Marc Stein of The New York Times.

Aldridge signed a two-year, $50 million deal with the Spurs in October of 2017. He previously had only $7 million guaranteed for next season.

Aldridge will make $26 million this season for the Spurs. He played in 81 games in 2018-19 and averaged 21.3 points, 9.2 rebounds and 2.4 assists while shooting 51.9 percent from the field, 23.8 percent from beyond the arc and 84.7 percent from the free-throw line.

The Spurs won 48 games last season, finishing in the seventh spot in the Western Conference standings. San Antonio lost to the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the playoffs in seven games. Aldridge put up 20.0 points and 9.6 rebounds in the series.

DeMar DeRozan and Aldridge are the two best players on the Spurs. The team will ultimately go as far as the two All-Stars can take them.

Point guard Dejounte Murray is back this season after missing all of 2018-19 with an ACL tear. San Antonio can't wait to see Murray and Derrick White wreck havoc together on defense, as both players are strong perimeter defenders.

The Spurs open the 2019-20 season on Wednesday against the New York Knicks at home.
