The Los Angeles Lakers are coming off of a 35-47 record in 2017-18, good for 10th place in the NBA and seven games in the standings behind their division and city rival LA Clippers. The future is bright for the Luke Walton-led team, however, who jumped significantly from their 26-56 record in 2016-17 thanks to rookies Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, and Josh Hart.

Things have been quiet in Lakerland the past couple of months as Ball's father, LaVar, traveled to Lithuania to be with his younger sons, LiAngelo and LaMelo, as they attempted to start an international career. It was short-lived, however, and now the Ball family is reunited in Los Angeles, which means that everyone is bringing the Ball father onto their show in order to get some juicy headlines.

While appearing on an episode of ESPN LA‘s “Best of ESPN Los Angeles” show, Ball was asked about the prospect of having his son potentially traded for San Antonio Spurs star Kawhi Leonard. Needless to say, he wasn't having it when he was then asked if Leonard is better than Ball, which everyone with a right mind clearly knows is true.

“Stop it! … Hell no. Lonzo, I’m gonna tell you what he does, makes everyone on the team better. Who don’t want to start a team with that? You put Kawhi on there, he won’t make everyone better. He’s gonna do his thing. He’s a specialty guy.”

Leonard averaged 25.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.8 steals in his the best season of his career in 2016-17. He dealt with a multitude of injuries this past season which led to him playing in just nine games. In those nine, he averaged 16.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 2.0 steals, and 1.0 block per game.

In his first NBA season, Ball averaged 10.2 points, 6.9 rebounds, 7.2 assists and 1.7 steals per game, but had some abysmal shooting percentages for most of the season until he got his legs under him a bit.
