The San Antonio Spurs are set to lose another trusted Gregg Popovich assistant soon.

According to Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report, longtime assistant Chip Engelland will be leaving the Spurs when his current contract expires. The terms of his deal are not disclosed to the public, so it is unknown how much time he has with the San Antonio franchise.

Losing Chip Engelland is massive blow for the Spurs, and it could be a massive sign of big changes to come in the organization. Amid rumors of a potential Gregg Popovich retirement, it certainly doesn't look good that Chip is departing as well.

Engelland has been with the Spurs since 2005 after serving as an assistant coach for the Detroit Pistons  from 1999 to 2000 and the Denver Nuggets from 2003 to 2005. He is San Antonio's shooting coach widely recognized for the work he put in to help Tony Parker and Kawhi Leonard, per Sports Illustrated.

The 61-year-old has won two titles with the Spurs in 2007 and 2014. While he has no NBA experience, he did play professionally overseas in the Philippine Basketball Association. He also playedn for Duke under coach Mike Krzyzewski in college where he appeared in 113 games and scored 1025 points overall, averaging 9.1 points in his four-year collegiate career.

As the Spurs enter a rebuild, it also looks like coaching changes will also happen. Whether or not Coach Pop will remain after the overhaul has yet to be seen.
