San Antonio Spurs guard Lonnie Walker IV delivered a powerful, emotional post explaining the real reason behind his patented hairstyle and why he finally cut it.

Walker says he was raped and sexually abused in fifth grade and used his hair to cope with the trauma of it:

We first have to commend Lonnie Walker IV for sharing this story with the public. It took a lot of courage for the Spurs guard to open up and he will surely be a beacon of hope for the younger generation.

Spurs fans already loved Walker because of his fun personality and aggressive play on the court. This latest Instagram post is only going to make the Pennsylvania native even more popular in the Alamo City.

The Spurs drafted Walker with the 18th overall pick in the 2018 draft. He averaged 2.6 points a rookie in 2018-19 and was putting up 5.6 points in 2019-20 before the season was suspended in March due to COVID-19.

Walker and the Spurs will be in Orlando, Florida when the 2019-20 season resumes at Walt Disney World. San Antonio will be fighting with the Phoenix Suns, Sacramento Kings, New Orleans Pelicans, Portland Trail Blazers and Memphis Grizzlies for the final playoff spot out West.

The last time the Spurs didn't make the playoffs was all the way back in 1997.
