San Antonio Spurs legend Manu Ginobili could not let this day pass without reliving what was one of the most iconic incidents that ever happened on a basketball court. As it turns out, it has been a decade since the Argentina national took on a fully-grown bat during an NBA game.

This is what Ginobili had to say to commemorate the unforgettable encounter:

It's been 10 years and still, watching this clip makes Ginobili's heroics even more impressive. Obviously, he just wanted to get on with the game at that point, and was not fully aware of the consequences of his actions. As admitted by the four-time NBA champion himself, several doses of anti-rabies vaccinations had to be administered to him in order to avoid any infection from his unusual encounter with the flying mammal.

No doubt, Manu is as legendary as they come. He is truly one of the most iconic players to have ever dawned the San Antonio uniform.

As for his beloved Spurs team, however, things have not exactly been the same since the end of the Big 3 era of Manu Ginobili, Tim Duncan, and Tony Parker. The team have suffered back-to-back first-round exits over the past two seasons, and are no longer the perpetual championship contender they once were.

Although, the Spurs have had a pretty good start to the new season, and Thursday night's 103-97 defeat against the Los Angeles Clippers was actually their first loss of the campaign. Thanks in large part to Kawhi Leonard's astounding 38-point, 12-rebound performance, San Antonio are now 3-1. They are scheduled to face off against a struggling Golden State Warriors side on Friday on a back-to-back set, so this contest should present itself as a good opportunity to bounce back from Thursday's loss.
