San Antonio Spurs big man LaMarcus Aldridge suffered a bruised left knee late in the first half of Tuesday night's 116-106 loss to the Washington Wizards due to an on-court collision with Otto Porter Jr. After making his way to the locker room for an evaluation, the six-time All-Star did not return to play.

As most Spurs fans know, Aldridge, who's scheduled to undergo an MRI on Wednesday morning, has been playing great basketball as of late. In fact, the former No. 2 overall pick (2006) racked up a total of 178 points in the five games prior to Tuesday's.

In his 18 minutes of action against the Wizards on Tuesday night, Aldridge recorded a team-high 13 points on 4-6 shooting from the field, four rebounds, two assists and one block.

Following Tuesday's game, Spurs forward Manu Ginobili was asked to comment on the injury Aldridge sustained, as well as his overall value to the team.

“Considering the way he’s been playing and our recent success in those games, we are at the point where if LaMarcus gets a cough, a cold, we are in deep trouble,” Ginobili told Tom Osborne of the San Antonio Express-News after Tuesday night's loss. “Hopefully, it’s not serious because it’s going to be really tough to score without him and we have tough games against teams that need to win. We really need him.”

With just seven games left on their regular season schedule, the Spurs (43-32) are currently the 6th-seeded team in the Western Conference standings. They'll be back in action on Thursday night, as they're scheduled to host the Oklahoma City Thunder inside the AT&T Center. Tip-off is set for 8:00 p.m. EST with TNT having live broadcast coverage.
