San Antonio Spurs guard Patty Mills is one of the latest personalities to express concern over the devastating bushfires that have already swept through a significant part of the nation's southern coast.

Mills, a native of Canberra, Australia, took to Twitter to provide a brief update on the type of damage this calamity has caused to date.

The worst part about this is that according to reports, there is a good chance that these fires could get even worse. Our prayers go out to the whole nation of Australia, especially to those who have been affected by this unwanted calamity.

This is obviously close to Patty Mills' heart, being himself an Australian national. Mills is heavily involved in the sociopolitical sphere of his home nation, so we're pretty sure the 31-year-old would love to go home to help out if only he could. Right now, though, he will need to provide a helping hand from halfway across the globe, as he focuses on his day job.

At this point in the season, the Spurs cannot afford to lose Mills, who has been a steadying force off the San Antonio bench. The 6-foot-1 guard is currently averaging 11.4 points (on 43.8 percent shooting), 1.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 0.8 steals, while also connecting on 2.2 3-pointers in 23.2 minutes played.

San Antonio has struggled all season long, and is currently in possession of a 14-20 record. Fortunately for them, the bottom end of the playoffs picture in the West remains wide open, as they continue to hold on to the eighth and final postseason spot in the conference.
