Patty Mills is putting on a different black uniform next season. The longtime San Antonio Spurs guard is putting away his silver and black next season at he joins the Brooklyn Nets.

The Australian guard posted a heartfelt dedication to the Spurs organization and its fans for his decade-long journey with them.

“You can’t say goodbye to a place that will forever be part of you. Besides, you still gotta have a fiddle in the band. Forever connected #spursporvida”

Mills was the longest-tenured member of the Spurs roster by a wide margin, serving as the bridge between multiple eras of the franchise's recent history. He first joined the team during the 2011-12 season, but played sparingly for the team in his first two years.

It was during the Spurs' NBA championship run back in the 2013-14 season when Mills was finally able to make an impact when the games mattered, playing in all 23 games en route to a title.

But now with the Spurs going full youth movement, it felt best for both sides to mutually part ways. Patty Mills is one of the most underrated signings of the offseason for the contending Nets. You can already pencil in a half dozen big shots during the postseason even alongside some excellent scorers in Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie Irving.

San Antonio Spurs fans all know Patty Mills has never been afraid of the moment. Now it's time for him to show that elsewhere.
