The San Antonio Spurs have been playing really good basketball as of late, and now they are going to be getting back a key piece to the puzzle, as veteran big man Pau Gasol is available to play on Friday against the Denver Nuggets.

Pau Gasol has only played in nine games this season due to a stress fracture in his left foot. The six-time All-Star ditched his walking boot a few weeks ago and is ready to play again.

Pau Gasol is averaging 6.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game this season for San Antonio. The two-time NBA champion with the Los Angeles Lakers is shooting 51.2 percent from the field and 72.2 percent from the free-throw line.

The Spurs have been relying on big man Jakob Poeltl ever since Gasol's injury. San Antonio acquired Poeltl in the Kawhi Leonard trade with the Toronto Raptors during the offseason. He is averaging 6.0 points and 5.1 rebounds per game on the year.

Pau Gasol can still knock down the wide-open mid-range jumper and rebound for the Spurs. San Antonio enters Friday with a record of 19-16, good for eighth place in the Western Conference standings.

Gasol is in the second season of a three-year, $48 million deal he signed back in 2017.
