San Antonio Spurs big man Pau Gasol made a big announcement on Tuesday morning. In a message sent to his followers on social media, the Spanish-born All-Star announced that he and his longtime girlfriend, Catherine McDonnell, are now engaged.

Though a date of union has not been set, the Spurs big man is brimming with happiness:

Gasol, now 38 years of age, and McDonnell, 30, have been dating since 2016. Throughout their relationship, the couple has taken vacations all around the globe, including a trip to Gasol's native Spain back in August:

McDonnell is a graduate of USC, where she earned magna cum laude honors for her studies in business and communications. She has worked for several media outlets, including FOX and ABC News. Currently, she is the vice president of the financial services firm, Guggenheim Partners, which is based in New York City.

Gasol isn't the only member of the Spurs organization to get engaged this offseason. Patty Mills proposed to his long-time girlfriend, Alyssa Levesque, over the summer.

Gasol and the Spurs will kick off their regular-season campaign on Wednesday night with a matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Tip-off inside the AT&T Center is set for 8:30 p.m. ET.

Join us in congratulating Pau and Cat for their engagement!
