The San Antonio Spurs have been known to be the most successful franchise in the NBA since entering the league in 1973. They have only missed the playoffs four times over that span, and are looking geared to continue their run of success once again this season. The team still has one of the best coaches in Gregg Popovich, and their roster consists of a good mix of veterans and young guns, capable of performing well on any given night. However, what could be the key to their good fortune is the mutual respect their players have for one another, despite their statures.

Manu Ginobili proved just that recently, as he had nothing but good words to say about Pau Gasol’s performance during their win on Tuesday versus the L.A. Clippers. He gave him a lot of credit for setting the tone for them with his scoring and passing ability, which he has showcased throughout his stellar career.

The 7-foot big man then took to his Twitter account to let Ginobili know that he appreciates his comments for him, which also included a message for him in Spanish thanking him for his kind words.

The two veterans may not be the same players that they were earlier in their careers, but Gasol showed on Tuesday that he is still capable of throwback performances just like how did on the night. He finished the game with 19 points, on 8-of-9 shooting from the field, to go along with eight rebounds and six assists.

Ginobili on the other hand has only been playing 20.7 minutes through nine games so far. However, that has been the norm for him in the regular season the past few years, as the Spurs are trying to preserve his health for longer court action in the playoffs, where he is relied upon to provide them with a lot of energy and hustle off the bench.
