The injury bug continues for the San Antonio Spurs. This time, it's apparently hit Rudy Gay when he reportedly blew out his left eardrum during Monday night's 100-98 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies.

Luckily, according to Spurs beat reporter Michael C. Wright of ESPN, Gay's eardrum injury is said to only be minor and he's going to be okay.

According to Jabari Young of the San Antonio Express-News, Gay was supposed to be in attendance today for a basketball clinic at the grand opening of the Menger Creek Linear Park in San Antonio, had to cancel because of his ear injury.

“Due to an injury sustained during last night's Spurs-Grizzlies game, Rudy Gay will not be able to attend today's opening of the Menger Creek Linear Park,” Young said. “The event, including the basketball clinic with students from the Young Men's Leadership Academy, will go on as planned.”

Although it was against Memphis and it took a rally, San Antonio was able to get the job done last night to secure a well-needed win. Before the game against the Grizzlies, the Spurs had blown two consecutive third-quarter leads of at least 15 points at home against both the New Orleans Pelicans and the Los Angeles Lakers.

Despite being limited to only 39 games so far this season, Gay is still averaging some pretty solid numbers with 11.3 points on 47.0 percent shooting from the field, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game in roughly 22.3 minutes of action per contest.

Before Gay was forced to leave the game after blowing out his eardrum against the Grizzlies, he already had seven points and four rebounds in just 14 minutes.
