Slated to make his return to the court tonight against the Dallas Mavericks, point guard Tony Parker expressed optimism about his teammate Kawhi Leonard and his recovery process moving forward after sharing some rehab sessions with him through his own road back to the hardwood, according to ESPN's Michael C. Wright.

“He looked great,” said Parker after sharing the floor with him in a light practice. “I was like ‘Oh he's good' — I forgot that he was that good.”

The French international was asked how close his teammate was to a potential return.

“Close,” said Parker. “It's still gonna be a process. The Spurs ain't gonna take no risks, and it's still going to be two weeks, three weeks. They're not gonna take any risks. But he's looking good so far, in what he did with me — he's looking good.”

The Spurs have done their best to keep the boat afloat in light of his absence and have done so at the tune of a 12-7 record, sitting third in the West behind the Houston Rockets and the Golden State Warriors.

Leonard's return could spell a potential solid run for San Antonio as they look to push for that No. 1 seed — but for now, all that is left to do is wait.
