What’s with these players trying to rain on Kobe Bryant’s jersey retirement day?

Just after Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki surpassed Kobe for 13th all-time in the NBA's 3-pointers made list, another player from the Southwest Division leaped over Kobe in a different statistical category. This time, it’s San Antonio Spurs veteran court general Tony Parker.

With the Spurs winning Monday over the L.A. Clippers at home, 109-91, Parker broke his tie with Bryant on the eighth spot of the all-time wins list. Parker now has 837 victories under his belt.

Tony Parker is unquestionably one of the greatest point guards of his generation. The 35-year-old French national doesn’t just have regular season wins, as Parker also boasts a collection of four NBA titles, which he all won with the Spurs.

Parker, who is averaging 7.5 points and 4.1 assists per game this campaign, is bound to win more this season with plenty of games left on the schedule. He is, however, playing on the last year of a three-year contract he signed with the team back in 2014. Parker is going to hit free agency by the next summer rolls around, and regardless if he retires, stays in San Antonio, or plays for another team, Parker’s legacy is safe.
