Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr had some hilarious lines when asked about the San Antonio Spurs' hiring of Tim Duncan.

Kerr claimed that Duncan would be unfireable due to his resume in San Antonio, but he joked the future Hall of Famer probably wouldn't do much other than chill on the bench.

While Kerr is clearly just joking about the sitting on the bench part, there might be a tinge of truth that Duncan will be untouchable for at least a few seasons.

Duncan is an NBA legend, but he is particularly adored in San Antonio because of his success and loyalty to the franchise.

In 19 professional seasons, Duncan only wore the Spurs jersey. Additionally, he played postseason basketball in every single one of those campaigns and won it all in five of them.

Although he was surrounded by talent in his years in Texas, going to the playoffs 19 straight years is impressive regardless of your teammates. Duncan will go down as one of the greatest players of his generation. Now, he begins a new path by coaching alongside his former head coach Gregg Popovich.

With Duncan on the bench this time, the Spurs will look to make the playoffs for the 23rd straight year this 2019-20 season. The Big Fundamental might not be able to get them buckets anymore, but his veteran leadership and wisdom from the pine could help the team surprise some opponents.
