As everyone wait for the next season to roll around, inevitable changes for the San Antonio Spurs could happen sooner or later, and it looks like the first hammer will drop soon.

An aging Tony Parker is recovering from a quad injury suffered in the post-season after showing he still had enough in the tank to help the team. Manu Ginobili, while there is no doubt he has a roster spot if he wishes, has not given word on if he plans to return. Pau Gasol recently declined his $16.2 million deal to offer the team a bit more flexibility for the summer. That move has led the team to have seven current free agents they must make a decision on.

While the Spurs usually keep their plans close to the vest, according to Jabari Young of the San Antonio Express-News, the Spurs are willing to trade sharpshooter Danny Green for the right deal. There were no specifics given as to whether the Spurs are just looking for more cap relief or looking for another player to replace Green, but it is an early indication that the team is looking to make some moves by making it known prior to Thursday's NBA Draft.

One reason for moving Green would likely mean the team feels sensation Jonathan Simmons is ready to step up his role on the team. Chris Paul has been reported to meet with the Spurs once free agency begins July 1, and while no other names specifically are sure targets for the Spurs, this is one team in the league that can put enough together to challenge the Warriors in the Western Conference.

Green averaged 7.3 points, 1.8 assists, and 3.3 rebounds per game while also providing solid perimeter defense for the Spurs last season. He is owed $10 million in salary next season and becomes an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2017-18.
