Kawhi Leonard is rumored to want out and Gregg Popovich is believed to be counting his final years as the team's bench boss. Are the San Antonio Spurs, the NBA's model organization for the longest time, beginning to crumble? Are they readying themselves to turn on a new leaf?

For one, they could be gearing up to become younger based on a report from Jabari Young of the San Antonio Express-News:

“If the Spurs are considering Spellman, the move does make sense. Pau Gasol will turn 38 next month, and some around the NBA anticipate he'll be mentioned in trade talks this offseason.”

Though Gasol is still efficient, his scoring production did decline in his second season with the Spurs. Gasol averaged 10.1 points and 8.0 rebounds in 77 games. He's scheduled to make $16 million next season, the second of a three-year, $48 million deal he signed last summer.”

Gasol isn't only the prehistoric member of the Spurs. Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker are fossils, but they're too ingrained deep within San Antonio's culture, something that can't be said about the Spanish big man.

However, things don't look really bad for the Spurs. They still have Leonard and they won't settle for chump change in a potential trade. But San Antonio may have a tougher time shipping Gasol out due to his age and the money he's owed.
