Veteran small forward Rudy Gay is reportedly expected to re-sign with the San Antonio Spurs this summer potentially for more than $10 million per season, according to Jordan Brenner of The Athletic.

Gay becomes an unrestricted free agent this offseason. The swingman made $10,087,200 in 2018-19 with the Spurs.

Rudy Gay looks like such an option, but multiple sources said they expect him to re-sign with the Spurs (potentially for more than $10 million per season).

Gay played in 69 games during the regular season and averaged 13.7 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists while shooting 50.4 percent from the field, 40.2 percent from beyond the arc and 81.6 percent from the free-throw line. The Spurs won 48 games and were the seventh seed in the Western Conference.

The Spurs fell to the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the playoffs in seven games. San Antonio then had to watch Kawhi Leonard lead the Toronto Raptors to the NBA championship. It's been a tough couple of months for the Spurs.

Gay is a player who can still score in bunches. He put up 11.1 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.7 assists in the first round defeat to the Nuggets. Gay will likely receive interest from other teams on the open market. Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich said after the season ended he wants to bring Gay back.
