As Miami heat star Dwyane Wade plays out his farewell tour, everyone in the NBA continues to show adoration and praise for him.

Before Wednesday's game against the San Antonio Spurs, the longtime Heat shooting guard was presented with a boxed gift topped with a bow — in Spurs black and silver no less– from none other than the longest-tenured NBA head coach, Gregg Popovich of San Antonio.

Pop and Dwyane Wade have had multiple battles over the years throughout the regular season and playoffs, including memorable back-to-back Finals in the early 2010s. Clearly, Popovich holds D-Wade in high regard, as does the Spurs organization who offered up a tribute video for the icon in addition to the boxed gift.

According to Michael C. Wright of ESPN, the gift was signed jerseys of three San Antonio Spurs icons:

Wade is no stranger to having jerseys offered up to him, but usually, he’s the one that’s doing the signing — as he did in a recent clip that went viral of a fan getting emotional after Wade signed his jersey.

The Flash is a one-of-a-kind player, and once he’s gone, the NBA will be slightly less interesting than it was before. That’s why we must treasure these final few weeks of Wade’s final regular season. Clearly Popovich and the Spurs are, so let’s follow their lead.
