Tokyo Game Show or TGS is just around the corner, and one of Japan's most prolific game developer-publishers, Square Enix, has announced their planned showcase ahead of time. Perhaps they did this to properly set fan expectations. Currently, they have quite a few big titles people are already anticipating – like Final Fantasy XVI. Additionally, it might be best to temper these expectations to prevent disappointment.

  • Project Triangle Strategy
    • An upcoming “spiritual successor” to Final Fantasy Tactics for the Nintendo Switch.
  • Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin
    • A Team Ninja-led spinoff action RPG featuring an action-oriented battle system with warriors of light facing off against Chaos.
  • Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy
    • Another Marvel Game from Square Enix, this time as a single-player action-adventure.
  • Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier
    • A mobile spin-off Battle Royale title for Final Fantasy VII Remake.
  • Final Fantasy XIV
    • Final Fantasy XIV's Endwalker expansion is set to drop this November. We can possibly expect an extended trailer from TGS.
  • NEO: The World Ends With You
    • A sequel to 2007's The World Ends With You. It will be available for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC.
  • Bravely Default II
  • Outriders
    • An online-only co-op third-person looter shooter developed by People Can Fly. It released in April this year.

These eight games have already been showcased in previous tradeshows. Meanwhile, titles presumed to still be quite early in development, like Final Fantasy XVI, and Forspoken, apparently won't be making appearances.
