The Pittsburgh Steelers received some relieving news as they activated tight end Eric Ebron and linebacker Cassius Marsh off of the reserve/COVID-19 list. As a result, they will be able to play against the Cleveland Browns this Sunday, as reported by NFL Network's Ian Rapoport:
This could not have come at a better time for the struggling Steelers, as they ended the season going 1-4 after starting 11-0. Dropping the game against the Browns in the last week of the regular season could not have been good for their confidence. Though Roethlisberger did not play, the Steelers have been on a decline after their first loss of 2020-21 against the Washington Football Team, losing to teams such as the dangerous Buffalo Bills and division rival Cincinnati Bengals.
With the addition of Ebron and Marsh back into the lineup, hopefully, the Steelers experience some stability in their offense and defense. Ebron has been targeted 91 times by Roethlisberger, hauling in five touchdowns and 558 yards. Though the offense has weapons such as JuJu Smith-Schuester and Chase Claypool, the Steelers will need short gains to facilitate the offense and get the chains moving against a tough Browns' defense, something for which Ebron will be perfect.
Marsh, who was acquired from the Colts practice squad, was needed due to the Steelers having to deal with injuries on the defense, as reported by Allison Koehler of Steelers Wire. Paired with one of the most talented defensive line in the league, Marsh will look for any way to contribute on the defensive end and help put a stop to Baker Mayfield's offense.
