With the start 14th season with the Pittsburgh Steelers rapidly approaching, veteran quarterback Ben Roethlisberger had one goal in particular during training camp.

According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, Roethlisberger was determined not to throw an interception during training camp with the Steelers. Apparently, it was mission accomplished for the two-time Super Bowl champion.

Ben Roethlisberger wrapped up training camp with a personal goal fulfilled.

“Didn't throw an interception all camp, so that was good,” Roethlisberger said.

Before heading into the NFL preseason, Roethlisberger gave serious consideration to announce his retirement. Carson Palmer of the Arizona Cardinals also appeared to be on the fence about retiring, but both quarterbacks chose to return.

The 35-year-old will now embark on a 14th year with the storied Steelers franchise as they attempt to dethrone Tom Brady's New England Patriots. Pittsburgh may be the only legitimate threat to the Patriots in the AFC with arguably one of the league's best offenses led by Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown, and Le'Veon Bell.

If Roethlisberger can hold off Father Time for one more season while leading the high-powered Steelers offense, Pittsburgh may have a shot at Super Bowl contention. Roethlisberger has the potential to end his Hall-of-Fame-caliber career on a high note by adding a third title to an already impressive resume.

The Steelers will continue their preseason on Saturday with Roethlisberger and company going up against the Indianapolis Colts. Pittsburgh will end their preseason on Thurs. Aug. 31 against the Carolina Panthers at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte before getting the regular season underway on Sept. 10 against the division rival Cleveland Browns on the road.
