In the last several years, the NFL has implemented the inclusion of Thursday night games into the fold of the regular season.

However, it is something that has continuously caught criticism from players around the NFL. Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is the latest to voice his disdain for the situation.

Roethlisberger's biggest strife with the process is that it doesn't allow enough time for the players to physically and mentally prepare for everything that is entailed in an NFL game. It is a violent sport and with little time between games to prepare makes its harder for players to recuperate in time for the contest.

The driving factor here for the NFL is monetary gain, but there is a definite concern for the players' safety from the players themselves. It is already a highly risky sport, which has further the amount of backlash from players because of the lack of rest to better prepare to play in a game.

With more players jumping onto the wagon of disapproval, the NFL could begin to take a closer look at the situation and may consider some alterations to schedules to meet these rising concerns. For the time being, Roethlisberger just joins a growing list of players against having Thursday night games.
