Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield has been tasked of the responsibility of having to lead the franchise to success after pushing through the last two seasons tallying just one win over that span. This has put a tremendous weight on Mayfield's shoulders to finally be the answer under center the franchise has been long searching to head the charge. “It’s tough,” Roethlisberger said. “I was lucky because I was on a great football team and we were winning football games. I couldn’t imagine being a young guy on a football team that was not winning games. Your body just doesn’t have time to rest. You’re physically worn out. You’re mentally drained, and now you’re playing football with grown men. I was lucky enough to win football games my rookie year and that makes it easier.”

Unlike Baker Mayfield, Ben Roethlisberger was thrust into a situation with a stable franchise where he had the chance to lead a highly talented team around him with proven helping him along. This had led to him experiencing a great amount of success from the get-g0 that saw the Steelers finish the regular season with a 15-1 record and fall just short in the AFC Championship game to the New England Patriots.

It is still a very much fluid situation with the Browns as the team is trying to find their identity, but it is becoming increasingly clear that Mayfield could be the long-term answer under center. There could be plenty of bumps along the way, but he has a chance to build something special in Cleveland if the team continues to bring in the right players and talent around him offensively.

In the meantime, Mayfield will continue to take his lumps in his rookie campaign as he gets further used to playing in the NFL Sunday's game will be his first opportunity to go up against the Steelers. This is now in his hands to make the best of the situation while showing he can lead the franchise to success.
