Thanks to his amazing performance for the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday against Cincinnati Bengals, Ben Roethlisberger has been named as the AFC Offensive Player of the Week. The 38-year-old had quite an acceptance speech, as he deflected most of the credit to his team.

Roethlisberger spread the love to nearly every single person on the Steelers squad — including the coaching staff — as he expressed his appreciation for all their hard work:

“I attribute it to the guys around me,” said Roethlisberger, via the team's official website. “I attribute it to the offensive line, no sacks. They gave me time to throw it against a lot of crazy looks and blitzes. I attribute it to the coaching staff for getting me ready to play, and all of us ready to play. Then, obviously, the skill guys, they made plays tonight. It wasn't easy out there. The wind was blowing the football around a little bit, and they were able to concentrate and make plays out there when sometimes plays weren't even there to be made.

“JuJu (Smith-Schuster) doing what he normally does and fighting for first downs, and James Conner catching the ball, and just everybody. I can't say enough about everybody. It was way more than me. It was a total team victory.”

Always the class act, Roethlisberger was more than comfortable in deflecting the praise as opposed to taking it all in. After all, this is the 18th time he's won this award, so it's not as if this is something new to him.

Roethlisberger completed 27-of-46 passes against the Bengals for 333 yards, while also logging four touchdowns, as he led the Steelers to a 36-10 blowout win. The best part is that the two-time Super Bowl champ didn't even practice all week long after being placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list. Amazing.
