Even after sustaining a shoulder injury, it seems like long-time Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is here to stay after all. The 16-year veteran recently got back to the Steelers training camp to prepare for the upcoming season.

ESPN NFL Nation reporter Brooke Pryor shared the veteran's thoughts regarding his recovery from the injury on Twitter:

On April 24, 2019, Roethlisberger signed a two-year contract extension with the Steelers worth $68 million with a $37.5 million signing bonus, securing his services through the 2021 season. In Week 2 against the Seattle Seahawks last season, Roethlisberger sustained a season-ending injury on his right elbow. He completed eight passes for 75 yards prior to getting injured.

Backup playmaker Mason Rudolph eventually took over the starting position for the remainder of the 2019 season. The team concluded last season's campaign on an 8-8 overall record without Big Ben to place second in the AFC North division.

However, the team's performance last season wasn't enough to grab them a seat in the playoff picture. This marked the second-straight year that the team missed out on the postseason.

Fortunately for them, 2020 is looking a lot better for the Steelers. Star wideout JuJu Smith-Schuster will also be making his return in the upcoming season to bolster the Steelers' offensive line. The team's defensive rotation still looks solid with linebacker T.J. Watt, defensive tackle Cameron Heyward, and rising star safety Minkah Fitzpatrick at the helm.

Big Ben's veteran experience and leadership will hopefully tow the team back to a winning season. With a healthy roster, the Steelers are locking in to knock off the dominant Baltimore Ravens to regain divisional supremacy once again.
