Earlier this week, Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin, in preparation of their upcoming game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, took a playful jab at the NCAA's Mid-American Conference (MAC). He said, “We are not a Big Ten team playing a MAC opponent this week.” In response to his coach's words, Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger playfully responded to Tomlin and vowed to get back at him at some point. He also took a shot at Tomlin's alma mater.

Via Brooke Pryor of ESPN:

“I know! I haven't had a chance to get him yet,” the Steelers QB said when Tomlin's words were brought up. “He mentioned it again in the team meeting too, and I wasn't too happy about that. I will get him back, don't worry. I have to figure out what conference William & Mary is in. We will say something about that.”

Since Roethlisberger is still wondering, the William & Mary Tribe play in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA). Of course, the 6-time Pro-Bowler himself spent his college career with the Miami Red Hawks, a member of the MAC.

Ben Roethlisberger and Tomlin certainly have a lot to happy about, given Pittsburgh's undefeated record so far.

After playing just two games in the 2019 season due to elbow surgery, the 2-time Super Bowl champion is having himself a bounce back campaign while leading the Steelers to 9-0 mark. In nine games this season, the Steelers gunslinger has connected on 66.8 percent on his passes for 2,267 yards. He also has 22 passing touchdowns to his name, four of which came in their most recent victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.
