Include Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger into the group of J.J. Watt, Odell Beckham Jr., the still-winless clubs of New York Giants and Cleveland Browns as among those that didn’t have a very good Sunday.

During the Steelers’ 30-9 loss at home to the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 6, Roethlisberger was absolutely bludgeoned by an opportunistic Jaguars defense that picked the quarterback five times, returning two for touchdowns.

By the time Big Ben threw his third interception of the day – one that was returned for a touchdown by Jags safety Barry Burch – the boos from the crowd could be heard reverberating inside Heinz Field.

Following the contest, Roethlisberger was left to explain to reporters including  Aditi Kinkhabwala‏ of the NFL Network what had just happened and his answer might make Steelers fans a bit uneasy.

Roethlisberger was understandably upset of how he played in that game. After all, he just became the first Steelers quarterback since Mike Malone in 1987 to throw five interceptions in a game, per ESPN Stats and Info.

It could really just be one of those bad days any player in the league could have. That said, it’s also another testament to the sharpness of Jacksonville’s defense that leads the league in interceptions (10) and total takeaways (15).

Roethlisberger could rebound as soon as next week against the Kansas City Chiefs on the road.
