Dwayne Haskins signed a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers back in January, hoping that he could resurrect his career with the storied franchise. But the 2021 NFL season has not even started and he's already dealing with a serious off-the-field issue that involves his wife.
As first reported by Greg Haas and Carolyn Williams of 8 News Now in Las Vegas, Haskins and his wife, Kalabrya Gondrezick-Haskins, got into a quarrel at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, with the latter allegedly using physical force that resulted in the former suffering injuries.
Kalabrya Gondrezick-Haskins, 23, is accused of knocking out one of his teeth when she punched him after a disagreement, according to an arrest report obtained by the I-Team. A piece of his tooth was found on the floor of a room at The Cosmopolitan. Haskins told Metro police officers the couple have had verbal arguments in the past, but nothing physical.
It got to a point where Dwayne Haskins had to plead for security to get his wife away from him.
“I want her out of my room,” Haskins told a security officer at The Cosmopolitan. “She hit me and cut my lip open.”
This is a sudden turn of events in the pair's relationship, as the two just got married in March.
It remains to be seen whether the Steelers will take any action with regards to the matter, but at least Dwayne Haskins seems to have had kept his cool enough to prevent himself from making things worse.
