The Pittsburgh Steelers haven't exactly enjoyed the best season and look to be a longshot to make the playoffs at this point. Sophomore wide receiver Chase Claypool meanwhile has struggled and he gave his honest take on the 2021 campaign.

Via Dale Lolley:

“I just correlate how my season has gone with how the team's season has gone.”

That certainly makes sense. Claypool probably wasn't too keen to discuss his own shortcomings this season, anyway. The Canadian was blasted by Steelers teammate Cam Heyward after he suggested the team should play music during practice to loosen up the mood. This was in the middle of their losing streak.

Then in Week 14 against the Minnesota Vikings, Pittsburgh made an epic second-half comeback but fell just short after Claypool decided to showboat on a first down with just seconds left in the game. He faced a lot of criticism for his immature actions.

After grabbing nine touchdowns in his rookie year, Claypool is certainly dealing with a sophomore slump. He's collected just one TD in 2021. You have to respect his outlook though, which proves he is a team player who cares about the Steelers' ultimate success.

But without a doubt, Claypool will need to improve a lot in Year 3 after a forgetful campaign.
