The Pittsburgh Steelers are still fighting for a playoff spot. While their postseason chances are no longer entirely under their control, the Steelers would need all their key players on deck on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens, which, unfortunately, isn't going to happen. That's because Diontae Johnson has entered the reserve/COVID list together with rookie center Kendrick Green.

The Steelers announced the bad news Thursday via their official website.

The Steelers placed receiver Diontae Johnson and center Kendrick Green on the Reserve/COVID-19 List on Thursday.

Pittsburgh is already enduring a season in which JuJu Smith-Schuster hasn't played for the most part due to a shoulder injury. With Johnson out for Sunday's clash in Baltimore, Ben Roethlisberger will be left with the likes of Ray-Ray McCloud, Chase Claypool, and Pat Freiermuth as his top options downfield.

Johnson is a crucial weapon for the Steelers' offense, as he's a talented field-stretcher that can open up opportunities for others. Freiermuth's emergence in his rookie season can be partly attributed to Johnson's mere presence.

Back in Week 13's 20-19 home win over the Ravens, Johnson blasted Baltimore's banged-up secondary for 105 receiving yards and two touchdowns on eight catches and 11 targets. He was practically the entire Pittsburgh offense in that game, so replacing him would be a problem the Steelers will have to deal with heading into the all-important rematch against their divisional rival.
