The Pittsburgh Steelers selected wide receiver Diontae Johnson in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft out of Toledo. After just one season in black and gold, the 23-year-old has looked at his professional surroundings and determined.

“I feel like we got the best receiving group in the league,” per an interview with Steelers Wire.

Pittsburgh's offensive unit was much maligned last year for failing to reach the 28-point plateau in any of their 16 regular-season contests, but that was largely due to the shaky quarterback play that followed the departure of veteran Ben Roethlisberger, who underwent season-ending elbow surgery in September.

Joining Johnson at the top of the Steelers' depth chart is former Pro Bowler JuJu Smith-Schuster, and fellow big-play threat James Washington, who is entering his third year in the league. The trio attempted to reel in as many passes as possible from the combination of Mason Rudolph and Devlin Hodges last season, but it ultimately did not translate into another postseason appearance.

Prognosticators around the league have not usually decreed the Steelers to have one of the league's premier pass-catching units. During the days of Antonio Brown, Pittsburgh possessed one of the league's most explosive offenses; in the wake of Brown's departure, there has been a void that Johnson and others are attempting to fill.

But regardless of whether or not Pittsburgh's receiving corps gets the respect that Johnson feels that they deserve, his goal is simple:

“I want us to win a Super Bowl back home in Tampa.”
