With the Pittsburgh Steelers losing Antonio Brown this offseason, their receiving corps is obviously in a bit of flux behind JuJu Smith-Schuster.

Who will step up and be the No. 2 wide receiver in 2019?

Well, apparently, Ben Roethlisberger has already found his guy, and it's free agent pickup Donte Moncrief.

“I wasn’t really sure what to expect when he came in,” Roethlisberger said, according to Mark Kaboly of The Athletic. “I didn’t know him and now just getting to see his work ethic, the type of person he is, his desire to be great, his knowledge of the offense already. We’ll do no-huddle stuff and I’ll give him a signal and I’ll be like, ‘You good?’ and he’ll be like, ‘Yeah.’ He is in with coach (Darryl) Drake every single morning, pretty much all day.”

Moncrief spent the 2018 campaign with the Indianapolis Colts, hauling in 48 receptions for 668 yards and three touchdowns, far more production than any other Steelers wide out outside of Smith-Schuster has ever posted.

So, it seems like Moncrief will end up being the No. 2 receiver for Pittsburgh, with Kaboly going as far to say that he is a “slam dunk” for that role.

The 25-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Mississippi, was originally selected by the Colts in the third round (90th pick overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft.

He had a modest rookie season, catching 32 passes for 444 yards and three scores. He then had the most productive year of his career during his second season, snaring 64 balls for 733 yards and six touchdowns.

The Steelers went 9-6-1 in 2018 and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2013.
