The Pittsburgh Steelers are hosting former Washington Football Team first-round pick Dwayne Haskins on Thursday.

The ex-Ohio State quarterback met with the Steelers today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Haskins was cut by the Washington Football Team near the end of the season for character issues off the field and leadership issues on the field.

Ron Rivera and Haskins never seemed to click as a head coach and quarterback tandem, and as a result, he was let go.

Rivera is a known disciplinarian, so it's no surprise that the off-field antics from Haskins were not taken lightly by the coaching staff and management.

Haskins now looks to redeem himself with another NFL team and the Steelers may be the perfect fit.

With a mold similar to Ben Roethlisberger, Haskins has a chance to step into a system that is made for a quarterback like him and thrive. Big Ben is 38 years old and is coming off one of his worst playoff performances, if not the worst playoff performance, of his career. The Steelers should be looking for his replacement sooner than later.

Mike Tomlin is similar to Rivera in the sense that discipline and team come first before anything. Maybe Tomlin can fix what Rivera could not in terms of Haskins' off-field issues.

Haskins talent is undeniable, which is why he was a first-round selection. It's just a matter of finding a place for him where he can thrive.

Whether it is in Pittsburgh or not, Haskins will likely find a new home in the NFL by next season.
