The Pittsburgh Steelers just can't seem to stay out of headlines with all of the drama surrounding the team. Most recently, former Steelers running back Rashard Mendenhall said on Twitter that Ben Roethlisberger is racist.
Mendenhall took to Twitter to tweet that the Steelers quarterback is a racist and was defending Antonio Brown's actions.
Alright, I’ll end the mystery… B’s racist and @AB84’s black. He had to catch balls from a racist quarterback. Every honest player knows it, it’s not a big deal. He was just supposed to take his lickings and move on, like a slave for real. https://t.co/ubI39UDauY

Since then, Mendenhall has backpedaled from his stance on Roethlisberger being racist, less than 12 hours after he made the accusation on Twitter.
Clearly it’s no fun, when EVERYONE’s the accused…
Please allow the dialogue in sports to be equal. Why’s it so easy to shoot at one player, but not the other?
B’s not racist. Just like AB’s not a dirtbag.#letsbefair

We aren't here to decipher whether or not Roethlisberger is a racist but what Mendenhall's intentions were. According to his last tweet, he was trying to show that the dialogue in sports isn't equal to every player.
Regardless, Mendenhall shouldn't take to social media of all places to announce that he believes Roethlisberger is a racist. Whether he truly believes that or not is up for discussion.
Recently, Antonio Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster got into a social media war with Brown ending it with a questionable post on Instagram. The post shows Smith-Schuster sending a direct message to Brown while he was at USC, asking for advice to be a better receiver.
Brown posted it to try and “expose” Smith-Schuster but in reality, the media began to hate Brown even more and label him with different names. In these situations, it's crazy to see fanbases flip flop on former players of their favorite team in the snap of a finger.
Brown was beloved in Pittsburgh until the end of last season and when he started to question Roethlisberger as a person and leader. It is fair to say that people should wait to label anyone anything until you get the full story.
Until then, the Steelers will remain to be a circus in the locker room with current players or even former players.
