Pittsburgh Steelers running back James Conner is hoping that it'll be more than just him making significant contributions to the team's backfield this season.

Conner emerged as the Steelers' primary running back option last season, and there's no doubt that he will be the main player everything goes through in the running game since Le'Veon Bell is now with the New York Jets.

But Pittsburgh will need more than just Conner in their backfield attack, and he seems to think that the production could be rather even along with some of the other backs on the roster.

From Jonathan Bombulie of TRIBLive.com:

“I think it’ll be spread out pretty evenly,” Conner said after a minicamp practice session Wednesday afternoon.

Conner also shared his thoughts on how Jaylen Samuels and former Kentucky running back Benny Snell will contribute:

“I’ve seen his college tape. He’s also learned the offense really quick. I know he’ll be ready to play this year,” Conner said. “Jaylen, obviously, is going to make a lot of plays, too.”

With plenty of changes on the Steelers' offense due to Bell's exit to New York and Antonio Brown joining the Oakland Raiders, there could be several intriguing tweaks made in terms of Conner's role in both the passing and running game.

But no matter what role he plays, Steelers' fans should at least be confident in his ability to lead the way given how he performed last season.
