The Pittsburgh Steelers' offense has slowed in the last couple of weeks, including Monday's loss to the Washington Football Team that ruined the team's perfect season.

But the Steelers are getting an offensive weapon back for a marquee matchup with the high-powered Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

Starting running back James Conner has been activated off the reserve/COVID-19 list, and will be eligible to play barring any setbacks.

Conner has missed each of the last two games after testing positive for COVID-19.

The Steelers were deprived of their starting running back, though the concern over Conner's health was far greater than his looming absence in the backfield. Conner is a cancer survivor, bringing about questions as to how his body might respond to the virus.

Fortunately, it appears Conner has been able to make a full recovery in the last couple weeks. He could be the weapon the Steelers need to get back on track.

The Steelers have been totally incapable of establishing the run in each of their last two games. They rushed for just 68 yards against a depleted Baltimore Ravens defense. Washington then totally shut down Pittsburgh's rushing attack, allowing just 21 yards on the ground.

Conner produced somewhat inconsistent results through his first 10 games, though he had seemingly gotten back on track by gashing the Jacksonville Jaguars for nearly seven yards per carry in Week 11. The Steelers will need him to have similar success against a Bills defense that ranks 24th in rushing yards allowed and 28th in yards per carry.
