With the Pittsburgh Steelers on the downfall, the news of James Conner being available with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger this Week 16 against the Indianapolis Colts is definitely a morale booster.

According to Mike Florio of NBC Sports, Conner experienced a quad injury against the Buffalo Bills in Week 14, where he only carried the ball 10 times for 18 yards. In addition, Conner was placed on the COVID-19 reserve list in Week 11.

With the Steelers dropping the last three out of four games, they seem to have lost their identity that propelled them to the top of the AFC North after starting the season 11-0. Recently losing to the Cincinnati Bengals, Buffalo Bills, and Washington Football team, the team's confidence has surely taken a huge hit. With the playoffs right around the corner as well as the Cleveland Browns one game behind them, the game against the Colts is as important as ever.

However, all hope is not lost, as their star running back is now healthy and ready to go. Though it has been a while since James Conner has rushed the ball to his full potential, he has produced 663 rushing yards and five touchdowns in the 11 games he has played this 2020.

Roethlisberger has had to rely on the passing game to move the offense up the field, as he has thrown for 3,462 yards and 30 touchdowns this campaign. It will be key for the Steelers to gradually slide Conner back into the offensive attack to reestablish themselves as Super Bowl contenders. Making sure Conner remains healthy is a priority for the next couple of games and the postseason.
