Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is the only player on the team with a Super Bowl ring, but according to James Conner, he is trying to help everyone else envision what it will feel like when they lift the Lombardi Trophy.

Earlier this offseason, Roethlisberger invited the skill position players to his lake house in Georgia, and one of the things talked about, was what it was like winning the Super Bowl.

“We’re just motivated by Super Bowl,” Conner said via 24/7 Sports. “Down in Ben’s house, as you guys know, we all were down there at his lake house. Late night talks, he’s telling us how it felt, the confetti coming down and everything. No players motivate us. We’re motivated by a trophy.”

One of the best ways to try and achieve that goal is with a very close-knit team, and that's exactly what the Steelers are. This off-season they have put a lot of emphasis on team bonding activities, and that is something Conner has enjoyed doing.

“Yeah man. It’s bigger than making plays on the field,” Conner said. “Football is like the game of life. Friendships and relationships that we have off the field will help us on the field. So everything’s not just competition and who can make the most plays on the field. It’s important to be a good person and has good character. I’m learning that throughout my time in this league. It’s not always the guy that makes plays. It’s a huge part of it but there’s other things that play into it as well.”

Maybe with Antonio Brown and Le'Veon Bell gone, and the team focusing just on football again, this is the year they can make another serious run for the Lombardi Trophy.
