Le’Veon Bell is officially out for the entire season after failing to show up before his Tuesday deadline. That means James Conner will officially be the Pittsburgh Steelers’ featured back for the remainder of the year.

Conner says the fact that Bell will not return won’t change anything in terms of what he’s been doing for the first nine games of the season.

“What’s there to change?” Conner said per Ray Fittipaldo of the Post-Gazette. “Nothing changes. We’re in Week 11. I’m doing the same thing I’ve been doing for all of these weeks. I don’t really pay attention to it. I always go by the motto of control what you can control. I’m just going to keep doing what I’ve been doing.”

The Steelers are certainly hoping Conner doesn't change whatever he's doing to produce at an elite level. Through nine games, Conner has racked up 1,158 total yards from scrimmage (2nd in the NFL) with 11 total touchdowns.

The Steelers could maybe do with reducing the number of touches he’s been getting in order to keep him fresh, but he’s still a young back who can handle that type of workload.

Conner suffered a slight setback as he got concussed last week against the Carolina Panthers. But while he still hasn't cleared the concussion protocol, it appears he is on track to play for Week 11 vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Hopefully for the Steelers, Conner can avoid further injuries moving forward as he is instrumental in their chances of going deep in the postseason.
