With James Conner out this weekend for the Pittsburgh Steelers, it will be the Jaylen Samuels show, and he's excited to show everyone that he is more than a one trick pony. During college at NC State, Jaylen Samuels never had more than 12 carries in a game but was a significant threat out of the backfield setting the school record with 202 receptions.

This season the Steelers have used Samuels mostly as a receiving back giving him only 12 carries throughout the year, but Samuels knows that running between the tackles is something that he can also do well.

“I just don’t want to be portrayed as one type of runner,” Samuels said via TribLive. “I want to be able to do a lot of different things, being able to be a pounder or a speed guy — being able to pound between the tackles and show speed on the edges — so whatever presents itself I’m going to try to go out there, put the ball in the right spot and try to help my team.”

During college Samuels seemed to always get in the end zone, and he doesn't think it will be any different now that he has his chance in the league.

“That’s just what I do: I score touchdowns,” Samuels said. “I’ve been scoring touchdowns all my life, throughout college and high school and now I’m trying to take it here to the National Football League. Once I get in there and my number is called, I’m going in there to make the best out of it and make the opportunities count.”

It's still to be seen how much production he will have this weekend, but if his play matches his confidence, he looks to be in good shape.
