Joe Haden is still recovering from the shoulder injury he suffered in his team's embarrassing loss to the New England Patriots on Sunday. But with a Week 2 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks quickly approaching, the veteran cornerback is hopeful he'll be able to play regardless.

“Hopefully, I can go,” Haden said of Sunday's game, per Brian Batko of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “Obviously, there’s still a little pain, but it is what it is.”

Haden missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday as he continued dealing with soreness. Though he was a full participant in Friday's session, he nevertheless allowed for the possibility that the injury could prevent him from taking the field against the Seahawks.

The No. 7 overall pick of the 2010 NFL Draft, Haden quickly established himself as one football’s premier cover men with the Cleveland Browns. He had six interceptions as a rookie, and was named to the Pro Bowl in both 2013 and 2014.

The Browns, surprisingly, released Haden shortly before the 2017 season kicked off, clearing the way for him to sign a three-year, $27 million deal with Pittsburgh. He's been one of the team's most reliable, if unspectacular, performers ever since, as evidenced by player and team engaging in extension negotiations during the offseason. The most recent intel, however, indicated that significant gulf between Haden and the Steelers remain in contract discussions.

Pittsburgh and Seattle kickoff from Heinz Field on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. EST.
